I am a practical theologian, professor, and organizational strategist who is always working to understand and tell the stories of communities of faith and those who serve them. Amid the many challenges faith communities face, I work to bend imagination toward hope.

I teach at Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary and serve as the Director & Co-founder of The Program for the Future Church.

As a professor, I work at the intersection of practical theology and organizational theory to understand and explore the organizational ecology that supports Christian organizations and institutional leadership.

As a teacher, I foster a learning environment where students can participate as co-creators in teaching and learning, encounter the complexity of the material we explore, and cultivate the forms of practical wisdom that can sustain their vocations.

As an organizational strategist, I come alongside leaders and communities of faith to resource them as they discern and take the next step in mission and faithfulness.

Through it all, here’s the why for me and my work: I want to create space for new imagination to form and flourish. While the way we order the life of faith is changing, I am hope about what is possible on the other side of uncertainty.
